Abstract

This paper looks into long-term future trends and forecasts of innovations of mobility and logistics products and services by providing a literature review and empirical analysis of future studies. The future trends include long spanning megatrends in addition to shorter term forecasts of the forthcoming phenomena in transportation, mobility and logistics. Based on the analysis, some business opportunities and key trends are recognized based on their potential impact on economic growth. These key trends are analyzed and discussed in more detail. Finally, we draw some conclusions of the main development directions in the future innovations in transportation, mobility and logistics field.

Theresa Lauraeus, Aalto University, Turku University, Futures research Centre

PhD. Iris Theresa Lauraéus (1972). Her dissertation: Consumer decision making and uncertainty in internet purchase, Aalto University. She is working part time as Senior researcher in Finland Futures Research Center, Turku University School of Economics. Lauraéus is working part time as Wihuri foundation post doc researcher at the Department Information and Service Management, Information system Sciences, Aalto University School of Business. Lauraeus is working part time as a Chief Researcher in Kazimieras Simonavicius University, Vilnius, Lithuania, in Industry 4.0 and Big Data Project. She is working part time as Senior researcher at the Strategic Research Council of the Academy of Finland in Manufacturing 4.0 project. Before academic career, she worked as a Director of a Finnish internet office in Helsinki, Leading Consultant of large internet solutions, and Sales Director in internet solutions. Her current research includes technological innovations, future and foresight research: Digital Twins, robotics, collaborate robotics, corporate future competition trends and foresight analysis, manufacturing 4.0, innovative business models, VUCA, nano technology, disruptive technologies, mathematics modelling, industry 4.0. She has written with co-researchers over 43 publication in past 3 years.
