Sociology, society and open access

Abstract
The scientific publication has undergone profound changes in the last decade, with the open access format assuming a preponderance that seems to us without regression. In this presentation we will analyze the relationship that, in this context of scientific publication, exists between Sociology, society and open access. It is concluded that, since Sociology is a deeply reflexive science both in relation to its procedures and products and in relation to Society, publications based on a sociological view may, potentially be more divulged, and foster a greater dialogue with society. This dialogue should make possible to have a greater impact of Sociology research results on a possible social transformation. This is a process with profound implications in the sociology-society connection.
